Social Order for the Preservation of Land Yachts and More Doors – 1972 Oldsmobile 98 Coupe
Welcome back! It’s been awhile since our last SOPLYMD post and it’s good to knock the cobwebs off the old computer and get to posting some sweet sweet land yachts and more doors.
This week’s car comes to us by way of Doug from our home state of New Jersey. Doug and his 1972 Oldsmobile 98 Coupe have been to a couple of our show now and we struck up a convo at the most recent Flying W Air and Car Show this past October. He couldn’t wait to share his land yacht with you.
This 1972 Oldsmobile 98 Coupe is powered by a 455 Rocket V8 GM motor. Its a true survivor and has been garaged for over 40 years.Vinyl roof has been resorted as well as the Drivers side seat. This Ninth generation 98 was the Oldsmobile flagship for 1972. Interesting aspects for the 72 are dual rear seat electronic cigarette lighters and power seats and windows. The length of this land yacht is a long 227.8 inches.
Seriously, this 2 door Old is longer than my 4 door 1966 Chrysler Newport. Not by much, but still bigger. Plus it’s not like size matters. Right?
RIGHT ?!?!
Anyway, thanks for your submission Doug. An exclusive SOPLYMD decal is on it’s way to you. If you want in on this, just send us an email to deadrodzrevival@gmail.com and let us know what you have.
